BYU scholarships are not technically renewable--you must reapply each year unless you received a four-year award. Typically, about half the students who enter BYU with a one-year scholarship qualify for a scholarship their second year.
The scholarship application is available on Route Y. Make sure you apply by the appropriate deadline.
Additional policies:
- You must declare a major by the end of your sophomore year to be considered for scholarships.
- Only undergraduates with fewer than 160 credits (excluding AP and IB credit) are eligible for scholarships.
- Students are limited to eight semesters of fall/winter scholarships per student. Spring/summer scholarships do not count against the eight semesters of eligibility. Thus, after receiving eight semesters of fall/winter scholarship, you may still be eligible to receive spring/summer awards.
- Students must be full-time in order to be considered for scholarships. Students must have a full time credit loan during the year before they apply in order to be considered for scholarships.
- Students that repeated courses in the academic year may be penalized for future scholarship consideration
